Pre-School (3-5 Years)
The Pre-School is a terrific interactive environment, providing care for children between the ages of 36-60 months. It caters for 62 children, which is our largest unit and is thus split into Pre-School 1 & 2 (30/32 children). Both units work uniformly to provide your child with the foundation learning they need to prepare them for the school setting.
As required by OFSTED, the curriculum is carefully planned following The Early Years Learning Goals, incorporating both large and small group work which allows children to play, discover and experiment with their ideas and knowledge. This is vital in your child’s early years development as they start to make decisions for themselves using different resources and technology available to them.
At Les Enfants we are particularly proud of the extensive space available to our children, over half an acre filled with a sensory garden, vegetable patch, all weather play surface and adventure play ground freely accessible to the children throughout the day.
Pre-School offers additional French conversational sessions, organised by ‘Le Club Frère Jacques’ and paid for by Les Enfants, these are optional. There is also the ‘Jolly Phonics Club’ run by an experienced primary school teacher, and a Dance Class run by a qualified dance teacher offering the children a chance to express themselves to music. Additionally, Pre-school children can also attend sport sessions run by the ‘Sporty Stars’, children benefit from specific teaching times where the focus is on learning through play, promoting their independence, confidence and self-esteem. These classes are at an extra cost but non-profit making for Les Enfants.
At Les Enfants we operate a system whereby parents are encouraged to initiate regular update meetings with their child’s key worker. This ensures that we can form a strong relationship with you as a parent in order to keep you up to date with your child’s development.
